Second Races For Hope Gibbons Shield
The second race for the Hope Gibbons Shield was conducted bj' the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre at Petone on Saturday afternoon. The senior teams race was won by Poneke A, and the junior race by Poneke.
Following are the results:— Senior race: Poneke A, 60.43, 1; Port Nicholson A, 63.27, 2: Petone A, 65.37, 3. Junior race: Poneke, 1; Port Nicholson, Next Saturday the cycling centre will conduct a massed start race of 35 miles from the Grand National Hotel, Petone, to the Brown Owl Cabaret and back. Junior reders will compete over a 20-nille course.
