Manor Park Too Strong For Titahi WATT CUP MATCH
Conditions were ideal for the M att Cup match on the Manor Park links on Saturday. Manor Park won by eight games to three, with one game .halved. The links were Hooded with sunshine, and a .light northerly breeze tempered the sun’s rays. The greens were in perfect order, and, as placing was permitted on the fairways, it was surprising that better scoring was not recorded. Following are the results, the Manor Park player being mentioned first:— F. W. Page beat H. D. Gyles, 4 and 2; E. Moriarty beat C. G. Swinburne, 2 and 1; E Butler beat A. E. Doneghue, 2 and 1; T 1 H. R. Boon lost to N. W. Parker, 3 and 2; A. Radford beat H. C. Boon, 5 and 4; J. Hennessy beat P. Jacobson, 9 and 7; E. McKenzie lost to G. S. Lccder, 4 and 3; A. W. Resuming his place as No. 1 for Manor Park, after missing a match through illness. Page played steady golf to account for Gyles by 4 and 2. Out in 38 to 39, the Manor Park player was 1 up at the turn. He made it 2 up by taking the short tenth in 3 to 4, but Gyles then got one back by taking the 400-yards eleventh with a birdie 3. The Titahi man here hit a magnificent brassie second from far out to within six feet of the pin. Page drew 2 up again by taking the twelfth (475 yards) in bogey 5 to 6, and drew 3 up by winning the short thirteenth in 3 to 4. They halved the short fourteenth in 3, and both played brilliantly to halve the fifteenth (425 yards) with birdie 4’s. This left Page dormie 3, and the end came w-hen Gyles pushed his tee shot at the tricky “porthole” out of bounds, and had to play his third shot oft the tec. Page took the hole in 4 to 6, which gave him the game by 4 and 2. They finished out the round. Page placing his brassic second in a bunker to the right of the home green, and took six for the hole, but even with this he did the home journey in 36 which gave him 74 for the round. Gyles took 38 for the run in, which made his score 77. Brilliant Out Journey. Moriarty (Manor Park) and Swinburne had an even tussle in No. 2 position. Swinburne started off well, taking the first two holes in bogey figures. The Manor Park player got one back with 4 to 5 at the fourth, and squared the game by sinking a 7-foot putt for a birdie 2at the sixth. Moriarty drew ahead for the first time when Swinburne drove out: of bounds off the seventh tee, and took 6 for the hole. They halved the next two holes in bogey figures, which placed the Manor Park player 1 up at the turn. Moriarty went out, in 35 to his opponent’s 37. Moriarty drew 2 up with 3 to 4 at the tenth,- and placed himself 3 up by taking the long twelfth in 6 to 7. Swinburne then showed bis fighting spirit by winning both the short holes in 3 and 2 to reduce his leeway to 1 down. Moriarty took the sixteenth (425 yards) with a birdie 4, which placed him 2 up again. Swinburne got one back when the Manor Park man drove out of bounds oft the sixteenth tee. The end came at the seventeenth, which Moriarty took in 4 to 5 to give him a win by 2 and 1. They halved the home hole in 5. Moriarty took 40 for the home journey, which made his full round 75. Swinburne did the last nine in 41. which gave him 78 for the full eighteen holes. Baek to Form. A pleasing return to form was shown by Parker, the popular secretary of the Titahi club, who used to play No. 1 for

BUSTIN CUP MATCH Tui Glen Beat Mornington A Bustin Cup match on the Tui Glen links on Saturday resulted in Tui Glen beating Mornington by 12 games to 6.
