STAFF CONTRIBUTES
£5O From Party For Sick And
Wounded Fund
On Tuesday night James Smith's tearooms, Wellington, was filled by -11)0 members of the staff and their friends when a card party was organized in aid of the Sick, Wounded, and Distress Fund. Till supper ■ time many and varied games were played, fo’Jowing which came a short but enjoyable programme of entertainment. Vocal duets by Mesdames Millin' and Look and vocal solos by Miss Weir were much appreciated. Accompaniments were played by an orchestra conducted by Mr. George Taylor During the evening various articles were raffled and donated articles auctioned. This provided much amusement and raised a considerable sum of money. The chairman of the committee responsible for organizing the party expressed thanks for the help tney had received from everyone on the staff, and specially thanked Miss Wittich and Miss' Whitmill for special assistance in regard to the tearoom and kitchen facilities.
Altogether approximately £5(l was raised for the fund.
