The Swedish newspaper, "Gotcborgs Tidningcn,” says the Russians arc pouring into Lithuania. Afore than 2000 tanks have already arrived at the German frontier. The Berlin news agency states that Soviet warships have entered Riga and that armoured units have taken up positions in the city. Riga reports that the Latvian Government. resigned after accepting the Soviet ultimatum. The first Soviet troops crossed the frontier this morning. A Kaunas message states that a “People’s Government'’ under the Premiership of AL Justus Paleckis, the author, has been formed in Lithuania. Members of the Cabinet are described as “not Communists but Left Wing patriots.” Following the Russian occupation of Lithuania the former Minister of the Interior, General Skucas, and the Chief of the Politieal Police are reported to have been arrested. It is stated that they will be courtmartialled. The Minister of War, General Musteikis, is reported to have been dismissed.

The Istanbul correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says informed circles declare that Turkey is looking to Russia for protection and is already negotiating with the Soviet. DENIAL IN MOSCOW Plan To Form Balkan AntiAggression Pact MOSCOW, June 17. 'The official news agency denies the existence of a Russian plan for the formation of an anti-aggression pact in tlie Balkans under Soviet protection.
