Japanese Protest (Received May 1.5,1.15 a.m.) TOKIO, May 14. The Vernacular Press in Batavia gives prominence to a protest by tiie Japanese Consul-General, Mr. Otiji .Saito, to tiie Governor-General of the Netherlands East Indies against increasing anti-Japanese agitation. As instances it is stated that on May 10 Dutch boys parading in Bandon against Germany upon passing a Japanese shop shouted “Drive out the Japanese,” and the Fatherland Club adopted a resolution demanding a search of Japanese homes suspected of containing hidden arms.
