Ministerial.

The Hon. W. Nash, Minister of Finance, will return to Wellington from Auckland today.

The Hon. Mr. Justice O’Regan left Christchurch for Tnnaru yesterday to preside at a sitting of the Compensation Court there. He will return to Christchurch tomorrow. Mr. C. H. Clibborn left. Wellington for Christchurch last night. Archdeacon J. D. Russell arrived at Wellington from Oamaru yesterday by the steamer express.

The Hon. W. Wise, Director of Public Works in Fiji, is visiting Christchurch,

Mr. R. Felton, of Paramount Pictures, travelled south last night on company business. Mr. D. R. Menzies, who lias been on a business trip to Australia, has returned to Wellington. Mr. C. C. Davis, Christchurch, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the steamer express from the south.

Mr. F. A. L. Cookson was a passenger for Wellington by the steamer express from the south yesterday.

Mr. W. T. Ikiu, general manager for New Zealand of the A.M.P. Society, who has been on a business trip to Sydney, lias returned to Wellington.

Mr. W. W. Mulholland, Darficld, Canterbury, Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, arrived at Wellington from the South Island by yesterday’s steamer express. Mr. J. H. Boyes, chairman of the Social Security Commission, left for Auckland yesterday to be present, at a conference being held there by the Minister of Social Security. Mr. Parry, on a number of matters in relation to the administration of the Social Security Act.

Mr. John Nicholson Macintosh, formerly of Tinmrii. has boon appointed British Vice-Consul nt Sama Fe. Argentina, by rhe British Consul at Kossario Mr. Macintosh is a son of Mr C M. Macintosh, an ex-tnayor of Titnaru. He was educated at the Waimataitai School, but when he was about 12 he went to South America, returnins: to i live at Timaru for a while, and leav- | ing the second time at the age of 23.
