Jerseys Bring Good Prices COW MAKES 200 GUINEAS The series of stud cattle sales generally. held at Litis season of the year was successfully initiated for the current season last .week, and were largely attended, report Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd. Four sales have now been held, and prices are oil a much higher level than for some seasons past. Averages have been approximately 25gns. for cows and heifers, and average prices for bulls have ruled about the same figure. The largest herd sold. 70 head, averaged 25Jgns. This was Mr. M. N. Trotter’s herd at Kati Knti, and comprised entirely cows, the herd sire and young bulls. Cwnpetition was particularly well sustained throughout. There was much interest in the star lot, the V'.II.C. cow. Menu Nehutai, with a record of 8881 b. butterfat. Shfl realized 200gus., the highest price paid for some years. Her five-year-old son, Oddicombe Dreaming Sam, realized 102gns., and other of the cows made 60gns., 571gns„ 52.1gn5.. and 51gns. At Mr. R. T. Wilson's final dispersal sale of heifers in calf, these averaged 25gtts., and made prices ranging up to 55gns. The displenishing sale of Madame M. J. de Guise Roussel’s Abbeville Slud was also very successful, the 22 lots averaging 271gns. The top price was 7()gns. for rhe 20-months-old bull. Rang! Marie Old Gold, and cows made up to 45, 50 and Signs.
