Friday’s closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for May 3 being shown in parentheses:— Cotton: Liverpool quotation. good American middling, spot S.l4d. a lb. (8.18) ; June delivery, Bd. a lb. (8.05 d. Rubber: Para. 144. a lb. (same) ; plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 12d. a lb. (Hid.). Copra: Not quoted. Jute: Not quoted. Turpentine: 53/- a cwt. (same). Linseed oil: £47/10/- a ton (not quoted). Pukekohe Produce Prices Dominion Special Service. PUKEKOHE. Muy 13. Little change is shown in today’s quotation from Pukekohe produce. Cauliflowers ure now more plentiful and are selling at 9/6 a super bag, a full of 1/- since last Monday. Potatoes remain at 7/- a cwt., with seed potatoes at 9/6 to 10/6. Onions are 12/- a cwt. Drumhead cabbage prices are at 3/9 a super bag and Savoy at 4/9 or 2/6 and 4/6 respectively for 10 bag lots or over. Carrots. beetroot and swedes remain at 4/a sugar bag and parsnips at 5/6 a sugar bag. Red Warren pumpkins are 4/- a cwt., and crown and grey pumpkins nt 8/6 a cwt. Cabbage plants are offered at 10/6 a 1000 and Captain Cook strawberry plants at 30/- a 1000. Strong Demand For Tin (By Telegraph.—Press Assu.—Copyright.> LONDON. May 12. The most excited dealings in the commodity markets since the German invasion of the Low Countries have centred in the price of tin, which has soared to the highest peak for one year. But no outstanding fresh purchases have been reported. The international tin committee was scheduled to meet on May 27. Before the invasion of the Netherlands the production quotas- were roughly equivalent to consumption. Grounds for any reduction in the production of the metal are not very strong. United Kingdom consumers ,are said to be not overstocked, but ure relying upon current arrivals. Malaya has decided to discontinue the publication of mine-head stocks, because other producing countries refuse to disclose similar information. Farmers’ Trading Company The Farmers’ Trading Coiiipan.t. Ltd. has advised the Stock Exchange Association that its share register will be closed from June 7 to 27. both days inclusive, for the payment of the annual dividend on ordinary shares. Dividend warranto will be paid on June 27.
