Vice-Regal. Hast evening His Excellency the Gov-ernor-General, attended by Captain Lord Dormer, A.D.C., left 'Wellington for the South Island where he will attend the Centennial celebrations at Akaroa and the Anzac Day ceremonies at Dunedin. Ministerial. The Hon. P. Fraser, Prime Minister, will leave Wellington tonight to attend the centennial celebrations in Akaroa tomorrow. He will return to Wellington on Sunday. The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, left Wellington last night for the South Island. He will receive deputations in Christchurch today, and tomorrow he will attend the centennial celebrations in Akaroa. Mr. Parry will return to Wellington on Sunday morning. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, AttorneyGeneral, will leave Wellington tonight for the South Island.
The Hon. Mr. Justice Northcroft and the Hon. Mr. Justice Kennedy travelled south from Wellington last night to attend the Akaroa centennial celebrations. Mr. H. 11. Sterling returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday. Dr. V. E. Galway left Wellington on his return to Dunedin last night by the steamer express. Mr. H. J. Knight returned to Wellington from the South Island yesterday. Mr. W. T. Strand, who hits been on a business visit to the South Island, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. 11. I. Austad returned to Wellington yesterday after a visit to the South Island. Mr. Barton Ginger, who has been visiting the South Island, returned to Wellington by yesterday’s steamer express. Dr. E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Industrial and Scientific Research, left Wellington for the South Island by last night’s steamer express. The Hon. Vincent Ward, M.L.C., Wellington, left for the south last night to attend the centennial celebrations at Akaroa. Major-General J. E. Duigan, Chief of the General Staff, returned to Wellington by the steamer express from the south yesterday. Judge G. P. Shepherd, of the Native Land Court, was a passenger for the south last, night on his way to Akaroa for the centennial celebrations. Squadron Lender E. M. F. Grundy was a passenger from Wellington for the South Island by last night’s steamer express. Mr. W. J. Dyment, New Zealand traffic manager for the Canadian Pircifie Railways, returned to Wellington from the South Island by yesterday’s steamer express. Dr. T. L. Paget. Inspector of Hospitals for the Health Department, who Ims been visiting the South Island, returned to Wellington yesterday by the steamer express. The Hon. Mr. Justice Hunter, president, and Mr. 11. L. Wise, a member of the Price Tribunal, returned from Auckland by the Limited express yesterday. Tlie Most Rev. T. O’Shea. Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan of New Zealand, travelled south from Wellington lasi night to attend the Akaroa centennial celebrations.
