TRAVEL CLUB BRIDGE AFTERNOON
The inaugural meeting of the bridge circle of the Wellington Travel Club was held on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. P. G. Harle presided over a good attendance. It was decided to hold fortnightly bridge parties in the clubroom on Wednesday afternoons, the first party to be held on Wednesday, May 1. Three members of the women’s committee, Mrs. P. G. Harle, Mrs. L. McKay, and Mrs. C. Bott, with Mrs. John Southward, Mrs. L. B. Clark, and Mrs. A. Bannister, were appointed to act in turn as hostesses at the bridge afternoons. Mrs. L. B. Clark and Mrs. H. Smith were thanked for a donation of a bridge table each to the club. Those present were: Mesdames W. H. Barnard, E. L. Blick, George Barker, S. E. Carter, W. E. Haughton, G. K. Brown, L. B. Clark, P. G. Harle, L. McKay, R. N. Ellis, S. Helfman. A. Laming, D. C. Haberfield, I. F. McDonald, A. Palmer, John Southward, 11. Smith, T. Tracy, W. Hennah, A. Waddell, A. Bannister, Miss C. Wise, aud Miss N. E. Donovan (secretary).
