Parties For Army Queen In Plunket Carnival Among the many events arranged during the week in the campaign lor funds for the Army Queen (Miss Patricia Gledhiil), in the I’luuket Carnival, were two parties held yesterday, one in the afternoon given by Mrs. EricReeves at her home and an evening dance organized by Misses Denise I’uttiek and Marie Yeats-Jones. Hydrangeas mingled with I'usehias and'bowls of golden dahlias were placed in the drawing room where Mrs. Reeves received the guests. She wore a cyclamen silk frock patterned in white and Miss Gledhiil was in a beige frock with white jabot, beige coat and brown accessories. The party took the form of a competitions afternoon and prizes were won by Mrs. T. McCarthy. Mrs. R. Chandler and Miss Marie Gledhiil. Tea was served.

At the dance held in Hie Wellington Rowing Clubhouse many young people attended to support: the funds and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Miss Gledhiil.assisted the hostesses in helping to entertain. Other, successful activities included a novelty party at' the home of Mrs. A. K. Steele, Miss Ruth Dixon’s picture showing and Mrs. A. Mack’s bridge party. Today will be a busy one for sup porters and committee. Mrs. T. Q. A Hislop will attend a fancy dress party for children given by the Khantlallah branch of the Plunket Society and at night Miss F. Fitz Gerald Is having a bridge party.
