Despite a protest by a large <li>'iitalion from tile Ministers’ Association. (he Clii-istelnircli City Council on Tuesday night granted permission Io the Christchurch Orchestral Society to hold a concert on one Sunday of every month for lhe year, lhe profits to go to charity. The mayor said concerts were inspiring and uplifting, and kept people off the streets.
The Sultan of Turkey has addressed a proclamation to Egypt explaining that he is awaiting a favourable moment, to end English tyranny.
