Viscount Errington, who is visiting New Zealand as secretary to Hie Marquess of Willingdon, is the oldest son of the second Earl of Cromer, and a member of the Baring family. At libchristening the lute King George V stood sponsor. Only 22 years of age, lie was I’age of Honour to King George V from 1931 to 1935.
Lord Waleran. who is well known in New Zealand, having been a aide-de-camp to Sir Charles Fergnsson when he was Governor-General, has joined the Royal Air Force. He went to his unit on November 21 as a pilot officer, after having served first: as a mobile police officer and then as a constable attached to the Old Street police station.
