New Zealand Butter Trade

(From "The Dominion,” Jan. 27, 1015.)

After some failing off in the demand from Vancouver for New Zealand butter there is every indication that the Canadian trade is coming back to normal. By the Niagara a consignment of 11.000 boxes is being shipped to the Canadian port from Auckland, mid it. is slated that in spite of the drought, the produce is of excellent quality, and the high standard attained by the Dominion product is I'iilly maintained in the consignment. The fulling off in the past few months is attributed merely to the passing effects of the money market and oilier war influences, and is of no importance ns indicating the prospects of the expansion of the New Zealand butter trade.

Up to the present Germany has paid Luxemburg 2,000,000 marks (about £84.000) as an indemnity for the passage of her troops through that country.
