Lord and Lady Willingdon Entertained RECEPTION AT EXHIBITION Following I heir tour of the Exhibition on Saturday night, the Marquess and Slarchioness of AVillingdon, England, and Senator P. A. Al. Slcßride and Airs. Mcßride, Australia, were entertained at a reception by the Exhibition authorities. The guests of honour, who are visiting New Zealand in connexion with the centennial celebrations, were later conducted on a tour of Playland. Lovely summer flowers were used to decorate the reception rooms and were attractively arranged against the richly polished -wood of the walls and tables. There was a fan-like display of flame and gold antirrhinums at one end of the main room, and on the centre table massed blue and mauve hydrangeas were grouped. A savoury buffet supper was served. Lady AVillingdon -wore a slim-flttlng gown of finely patterned chiffon in pastel shades on a dark ground. Her ermine waist length cape was square cut and was finished with ermine tails. Airs. Alcßridc’s black moulded frock was embroidered with an all-over sprinkling of silver sequins. Airs. P. Fraser was in a frock of navy lace and pleated georgette worn with a gaily embroidered Spanish shawl. Mrs. T. 0. A. Hislop was in black crepe suede, with silver fox shoulder wrap. Those present were; The Hon. P. Fraser and Airs. Fraser, Hon. D. G. Sullivan, the Hon. AV. Nash and Airs. Nash, the Hon. AV. E. Parry, Air. and Airs. T. C. A. Hislop, Sir Harry Batterbee, Miss Isobel Biggar, Lord Erringtdn, Captain Lord Dormer, Lady Roberts, Air. and Airs. C. E. Critchley, Air. and Airs. C. P. Hainsworth, Air. and Airs. Charles Todd, Colonel and Airs. ,A. Avery, Air. and Airs. C. Al. Turrell, Air. and Airs. R. H. Nimmo, Air. and Mrs. M. Cable, Air. E. Anscombe, Airs. Alalcolm Bennie, Air. and Airs. J. Read, Mr. and Airs. F. Johnson, Air. J. G. Alackenzie, Aliss Mackenzie, Air. and Airs. F. B. Dwyer, Air. C. A. Furlong, Air. H. Soft, Air. George Sara. This evening the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, Sir Harry Batterbee, will give a dinner party for Lord and Lady AVillingdon.
