DESIRE TO SERVE
Many New Members For St. John Ambulance
Dominion Special Service NAPIER, September 27. A commentary on the widespread desire to lie of service in the present situation is contained in the fact that last week nearly 300 new members were enrolled witli the Napier brigade of tlie St. John Ambulance, 20 being from Awntoto. 30 from Bay View, 15 from Eskdaie, 40 from Taradale, 57 from the AVomens Club. 40 from Meeanee, and 50 from Napier. So great has been the response to the appeal for volunteers that it lias been found necessary to start new classes. At present there are as manj as four classes being held daily, and instructors have been kept exceptionally busy coping with tlie demand for instruction.
An additional women’s class was started hist week and a further class will begin in a few days.
