FIRST MEN IN CAMP Officers And N.C.O.’s Officers and non-commissioned officers for the special force units to be trained at Trentham went into camp yesterday. They will prepare for the arrival of the men of the special force next week. The first draft of eleven N.C.O.’s and privates left Dargaville for caiup amid a scene of great eii'tliusiasiu and the skirl of bagpipes. They were farewelled by the mayor, Mr. Raymond Gibson, the Hobson County Council chairman, Mr. F. AVordswortli, and the president of the R.S.A., Mr. .J. H. .Stubbs. The men were entertained at morning tea and each was presented with a wallet from citizens. SPECIAL FORCE Certain Age Limit Increases It is announced by the ‘Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, that there Uns been no general increase iu the maximum age limits for enlistment in the special force. . In special eases, however, officers and non-com.mlssione'd officers are being accepted up to ages five years beyond those originally announced. The effect of this is that the maximum age of enlistment for privates, gunners, etc., is 35 years, for non-com-missioned officers, 40 years; for subalterns, 35 years; for captains, 40 years; for majors, 45 years; and for lieutenant-colonels, 50 years.
