Extra heavy prime steers made £l4/10/- to £l6/5/-,, 'AgU’t I? ‘’l4/5/-, medium £ll to 112/12/0, light £lO/5/- to £ll/12/6, small and unfinished £7 to £lO/5/-; extra heavy prime cows and heifers £9 to £ll/7/6. heavy £8 to £9 medium £6/10/- .to £7/15/-, light £o 10/- to £6/5/-, boner and rough £4/o/to £5/7/6. Prime quality held to late rales in a long calf sale, poor and unfinished sorts casing. Runners made £3 to £B/7/6; heavy vealers, £5 to £6/13/-, medium £4 to £4/18/-. light £3/8/- to• £-4, small £2/10/- to £3/6/-, smaller _£2 to £2/12/-, bobby and rough, 5/- to 37/-. The small entry of pigs made firm late rates under keen competition. Choppers made £l/10/- to £3/12/-; heavy baeoners, £4/4/- to £-1/11/-. medium £3/15/- to £4. light. £3/7/- to £3/13/-; heavy porkers £3/2/- to £3/8/-, medium £2/15/- to £3, light £2/2/- to £2/12/-; stores, 25/- to 40/-; slips. 28/- to 34/-; weaners, 12/to 24/-. Baeoners averaged 6Jd. to 7d. a lb., porkers Sd. to SJd. The full entry of sheep made firm late rates for the well-finished sorts; a proportion showing the effects of the recent wet weather sold at lower rates. Extra heavy prime wethers made 30/- to 31/3, heavy 28/6 to 30/6, medium 27/- to 2S/9, light 25/- to 26/9, unfinished 17/- to 24/9 ; extra heavy prime ewes, 24/- to 26/3, heavy 23/- to 24/6, medium 21/- to 22/9, light IS/- to 21/9, unfinished 4/- to 17/9. The lamb entry was heavier, and the demand was confined' to prime sorts, plain lambs easing. Prime sorts made 17/- to 25/6; others, 6/- to 16/-.
