Australian Carnival The Victorian Bowling Association is preparing for the Australian twwling carLivul to be held in Melbourne from December 26. 1939. to January 6 1940 t is expected that more than £lOOO will be spent on the carnival organization and the entertainment of visitors. These nation-wide championships are neUt biennially, and in each of the States in rotation. During the last carnival, held in Melbourne in 1927-8, there were 1110 entries for tiic single's, and 1256 compcti* tors in the rink event, a record for the Southern Hemisphere. Moreover, they have all been closed down this year for*five months, so that they can be pre* pared for the carnival. . A cordial welcome awaits al! visitors, particulars those from overseas. All competitors are guaranteed a minimum ot five games in the rinks, six games in pairs, and one game in the singles.
