AFTERNOON MUSICALE

Arranged By Women's National Reserve

Log fires, spring flowers and hydrangeas created a welcome atmosphere in the reception-rooms at the home of Mrs. R. B. Gibbons yesterday, when a v<ry enjoyable musical afternoon was organized by the Khandallah-Ngaio branch of the Women’s National Reserve. A display of dolls of all nations, lent by Mrs. John Murray, was arranged in the billiard-room and created much interest and admiration.

Guests were received by Mrs. A. B. Gibbons, president of the branch, who wore a frock of royal blue with navy hat and arctic fox furs. The committee who arranged this successful event were Mesdames R. B. Gibbons, W. H. Gledhill, A. Green, J. G. Smith, McGill-Nutt, M. Kinvig, H. Hearp, W. Haggar, A. Seed, F. Bailey, S. Peterson, A. Mac Neil, D. Laurenson, I. M. Plimmer.

A delightful programme was presented, the artiste bting Mrs. W. Duncan, Mrs. K. Grocott and Mrs. J. Barnett, songs Mrs. McGill-Nutt, violin obligato played by Miss Olga Burton, elocutionary item by Mrs. Laurenson, piano solo Mrs. Laurenson, who was also the accompanist. The guests were: Mesdames McNab, Featherston, Habertield, Vine, Campbell, Whiting Durrad, Meadowcroft. Hogg, Griffiths, Lee, Hume, Craighead, Farrelley, Barras, D. Newton, Matthewson, Ffitch, East, H. H. Newton, J. Murray, O. Kember, C. Monro, Inger-, soil, Matheson, Reid, E. M. Litchfield, Hoby, Davidson, W. Hicks, Swinson, Misses Bentley and N. Bennett.
