Wanganui And Waverley Clubs Dominion Special Service WANGANUI, July 27. The annual meeting of the Wanganui Jockey Club will be held on Wednesday evening next. The report to be presented shows that the season’s operations resulted in a profit of more , than £l4OO. after allowing for depreciation. The report adds that the stakes given by the club, based on the totalizator turnover, compared more than favourably with those of many other clubs. The stakes for the last year amounted to £10,685. an increase of £l3lO. As the number of nominations received for honorary officials do not exceed the number of vacancies a 'ballot will not be necessary. The membership showed a steady increase. The club started the year with a membership of 2.90, and this year, allowing for resignations, the membership stood nt 355, made up of 310 active members, 19 life members, and six women, members. The Waverley club will hold its annual meeting tomorrow. The report states that the operations for last year showed a very satisfactory position. A good profit' enabled the indebtedness to the bank of £876 to be liquidated, there being now a credit of £319.
