Given fine weather today, followers, of outdoor sport should enjoy an interesting afternoon, in Wellington, as a varied programme has been arranged. Representative League Match. A special attraction at Newtown Park will be the-New Zealand trial match to assist in picking the Rugby league team to tour Great Britain and France, fine contending teams this afternoon will be the strong South Auckland thirteen and the Wellington side. The outstanding event on the amateur road Cycling programme today will be the 35-miie open road race to be conducted by the Port Nicholson club at Island Bay. The race will start from Derwent Street at 2.30, and the course will be two laps to Brooklyn and Lyall Bay, finishing in Derwent Street. The juniors will race over one lap of the same course, the seniors being started first. The IVellington Cash Cycling Club will conduct a 35-mile road race, starting from the Grand National Hotel, Petone, at 2.15 p.m.
