ACROSS SOUTH POLE
America-Australia Air Service
LONDON, June 29.
Colonel Edgar Gorrell, president of the American Air Transport Association, who was a passenger by the Yankee Clipper (which has opened the North Atlantic service), said in an interview that he expected to see highflying aircraft flying regularly between America and Australia, via the South Pole within 10 years. He thought that a North Polar route would also be regularly used for commercial flying. He added that aircraft with six engines were already being built in the United States.
