A large catalogue was offered at the monthly sale of wool, skins and hides held at Palmerston North on Thursday by Abraham and Williams, Ltd. Values for wool were up from id. to -Jd. a lb. For sheepskins there was a rise in values of -Id. to 4<1.. a lb. Hides were on a par, while calfskins advanced Jd. to a lb. The l tallow market, was still quiet. — The following is the range of values:— Wool: Crossbred, 71,d. to BJd.; dead, G4d, to 74<1.; crutehings, first, 7id. to 8<"1.; crutehings, second, 6}d. to 7}d.; pieces, to sid,; locks and pieces, to 3fd. Sheepskins: Lambs, 6id. to 75d.; fine first,, SJd. to 9id.; fine hoggets, 73d. to B}d.; hoggets, 7Jd. to B}<l.; three-quarter-full-wools, Bid. to 9}d.; quarter-half-wools, 7Sd. to 83d.; crossbred, damaged, 63d. to 73d.; dead half-wools. 5Jd. to Gid.; pelts, 3d. to 4<l. Gold Mining Returns Una Hill Consolidated Gold Mines, Ltd., has received the following report from Thames: During the week ended June 23, the sump was excavated at the bottom of the No. .1 incline. A start was made on the crosscut to the bead of No. 2 incline. The country is good, and there is every prospect that dry working conditions will prevail over the next stages of the development. The Nemona dredge return was 420 z. from 10,600 cubic yards worked in' 130 hours. Overseas Wheat Markets LONDON, June 29. Wheat cargoes today were quiet and parcels were easier.
