Thomas Bracken

sir,—Our attention has been drawn to “Kickshaw’s” column iu your issue of June 26 re the shocking state of Thomas Bracken’s grave, and herewith please find £l/10/- to commence a list which we respectfully suggest should be opened. It is an amazing fact that Bracken’s grave is in its present state, and surely the thought of it will make every worthwhile New Zealander echo the words “Not Understood.”—We are, etc., LONGBURN. June 27. [The sum of £l/10/- was enclosed with the above letter.] Sir,—Referring to the letter in your paper of yesterday signed R. W. J. McNeill, if he is correct in his statement, then the late Thomas Bracken must .be buried in two places, because to my knowledge he is buried in the Northern Cemetery in Dunedin, quite close to the entrance gates with a tombstone over his grave bearing the poem that he composed during his life. —I am, etc.. S. KNOX. Nelson, June 30.
