MONEY FOR BATHS
Prospects Of Ngaio
The report adopted at the annual meeting of the Ngaio Progressive Association last night stated that the possibility of obtaining sufficient money from the general funds of the Wellington City Council for the building of swimming baths in the district was at the time remote, and it seemed that, if the district were to obtain baths, the funds would have to be obtained from other sources.
The committee had made repeated requests to the council for the enlargement of the public hall, and the latest advice was that, while it was not possible to make the money available immediately, the council hoped to give effect to the association's proposals during the current financial year. Officers were elected as follows President, Mr. 11. L. Cumming; vice-presi-dent, Mr. E. Turksma-.; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Irving; hon. auditor, Mr. W. J. Hicks; committee, Messrs. G. E. Littlejohn, L. Manttan, C. H. Hosking, O. Gidall, D. C. Habcriield, and A. B. Ross.
