£1,000,000 Worth More Films From Universal
INCREASING its budget by £1,000,000 over last year’s, the Universal Company for the 1939-40 season will undertake its most ambitious programme of production. The organization will produce and release 44 large productions, plus a number of lesser features, special short subjects and serials. Forty feature pictures with casts headed' by established stars have been outlined for production. Performers already assigned to these productions include Deanna Durbin, Edgar Bergen and “Charlie McCarthy.” Bing Crosby, Irene Dunne, W. C. Fields, Charles Boyer, James Stewart, Margaret Sullavan, Jackie Cooper, Freddie Bartholomew, Danielle Darrieux and Basil Rathbone.
