FALLEN SOLDIERS

Graves In Brokenhurst Churchyard ALL KEPT IN GOOD ORDER The graves in the Brokenhurst (England) churchyard cemetery of New Zealanders killed in the Great War were recently inspected by a member of the Imperial War Graves Commission. In a report to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Parry, the Commissioner writes that the graves of New Zealanders arc in good order, the turf neatly clipped,-and the headstones thoroughly clean. On the imposing memorial in the cemetery there was, at the time of the Commissioner’s visit, a magnificent wreath of arum lilies and tulips and other floral tributes from local people. The New Zealand graves in the Codford cemetery were also reported to be in very good order. A border had now been planted in front of the rows of headstones. "The report of the Commissioner, said Mr. Parry, “will be of special interest to the relatives of our soldiers buried in Brockenhurst. The Commissioner sent with his report a photograph of Hie New Zealand memorial in Brockenhurst. It is a striking monument to our fallen soldiers whose graves are dotted in front of it, wita a bush background.”
