Unauthorized Collector For Cripples Reports have been made to the Wellington branch, of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society that a person has been going from house to house in the suburbs, particularly in Miramar and Rongotai, purporting to be collecting money for invalid chairs for cripples. The secretary of the branch. Mr. J. Meltzer, stated_yesterday that the person has no authority to be collecting for this purpose and that if either the Wellington Public Hospital or the society bad. a collector on the road he would be carrying official authority. Tb.e society wishes to give the matter publicity to prevent more people being victimized. The police bad already been advised.
