AIR DEFENCE
Coming Visit Of British Mission A CABINET COMMITTEE Preparation Of Agenda For Discussion Cabinet has appointed a special committee of Ministers to cooperate with officers of the Air Department in securing information and preparing an agenda for discussion with the British Air Mission which is now in Australia and will later visit New Zealand. In making this announcement yesterday the Minister in Charge of Aviation, Mr. Jones, said the date of the mission’s arrival was not yet certain, but he did not expect the members to spend much time either in Australia or New Zealand. The members of the Cabinet committee are the Minister of Education, Mr. Fraser, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Sullivan, and Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones said the committee, in cooperation with officers of the Air Department, was working on information supplied by the Air Ministry regarding the information that would be required by the mission. Before the mission arrived in New Zealand the committee would meet and consider the information that had been gathered and would then arrange for the discussions that would be necessary between members of the mission and the Cabinet committee or departmental officials.
