Ministerial. The Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, will leave Wellington by motorcar early this morning to attend the agricultural and pastoral show in Taihape. He will arrive in Raetihi on Saturday. The Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will leave Wellington for Hamilton by the Limited express tonight. The Minister, who will visit the RuakurA experimental farm tomorrow, expects to return to Wellington on Wednesday. Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., and Major E. Reeves, representing the National Defence League, are visiting the South Island in the interests of the league’s recruiting campaign. Their itinerary includes Geraldine, Temuka, Timaru, Waimate, Oamaru, Palmerston, Dunedin, Milton, Balelutha, Gore and Invercargill. Mr. A. J. Ridler, Controller of Employment, is paying a. visit to Auckland. Mr. J. Fletcher travelled from Wellington to Dunedin yesterday by air. The Hon. F. Waite, M.L.C., arrived at Wellington yesterday from Dunedin. Mr. 11. G. Kilpatrick, secretary of the Canterbury Freezing Workers’ Union, is visiting Wellington. Mr. E. W. Ackland, Wellington, left for the South Island last night by the steamer express. Mr. G. A. Lewin was an arrival at Wellington from the South Island yesterday. Professor R. Lawson, professor of education at the University of Otago, arrived at Wellington yesterday from Auckland.
Mr. W. B. Darlow, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, was an arrival at. Wellington yesterday from the north by the Limited express.
Mr. W. H. Nicholson, secretary of the Canterbury Sheepowners’ Union, was a passenger from the south by the steamer express yesterday. n Mr. D. E. Rouf, managing director of Electrolux (N.Z.), Ltd., travelled north from Wellington by the Limited express last night. Mr. O. T. Hoisted, manager in New Zealand for Cable and Wireless, Ltd., was an arrival at Wellington yesterday from Auckland by the Limited express.
Mr. E. V. Bevan, New Zealand representative of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co., Ltd., left for Christchurch last night. He will return tomorrow morning. Mr. G. M. Henderson was at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington Education Board appointed the board’s representative on the Horowhenua Boys' and Girls’ Agricultural Club.
Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, mayor of Wellington and chairman of directors of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, returned from Auckland yesterday by air.
Mr. R. Walls, a member of the Dunedin City Council, Dunedin Harbour Board, and Dunedin Hospital Board, who has been on a visit to the Auckland province, arrived at Wellington yesterday.
The Rev. J. M. McKenzie, assistantdirector of missions of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, is visiting Auckland to spend a few days in consultation oh the mission enterprises of the Church. Mr. E. J. Fawcett. aeting-Director-General of Agriculture, ami Mr It B. Tennent, director of the fields division of Hie department, left Wellington for the north last night by the Limited express. Prince George Tuboutoa, Crown Prince of Tonga, who arrived til Auckland by the Matua on Sunday, left by the Awatea yesterday for Sydney, where lie is to continue his university studies.
Major-General .1. E. Duigan. C. 8.. D. 5.0., N.Z.S.C, Chief of the General Staff, left: Wellington by train yesterday for Waiouru to inspect the Third Field Battery, and the Eighth Battery. New Zealand Artillery, the Second Composite Company of the Infantry Battalion, ami the Second Field Company of New Zea land Engineers. He will later go on to Rotorim to in sped the Northern Distriei Hirsi l-'iel'l Company. New Zealand Engineers In training there, and will return to Wellington early next week.
