BOMB OUTRAGES
Five More Men Before English Courts LONDON, February 20. James Connolly, aged 23, and Francis McGowan, aged 24, labourers, were charged at Bow Street with being iu possession of explosives and were remanded to February 23. The entrances to the court and the public gallery were heavily guarded. The police gave evidence that in addition to explosives they had found 33 sheets of notepaper embossed with tlie Royal Arms. Thomas McGill, Robert McCann, and Hugh McGluskey, all of Belfast, were remanded for a week in custody at Birmingham .on charges laid under the Explosives Act. It was alleged that they possessed a home-made bomb and a quantity of explosive material. The men were described as prominent members of the Irish Republican Army. The police gave evidence that McGluskey said: “We must shut up because one of our fellows went to Australia and they got him there.” ANOTHER EXPLOSION IN LONDON (Received February 21, 11.10 p.m.).
