Suburbs Defence Club Competitions The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club held its annual ‘‘Daily Mail* competitions at Trcntham on Monday over ranges of 300, 500. 600. 800, 900 and 1000. yards,' seven shots with two optional sighters. The weather was fine qnd there was a fair muster of members, but as the day was not a general holiday, a .number of members were unable to attend. The first men to shoot went -down at approximately 9.30 a.m., and the short-range shoots were completed by midday, when there was an adjournment for lunch. Shooting was resumed at 1. p.m., and the final shot was fired at 5.15 p.m. The “Daily Mail” Cup, which is awarded to the marksman with the highest rifle score over all ranges, was won by Rifleman L. Fellingham, who shot consistently throughout the day and finished with a score off the rifle of 189 out of a possible 210. Deputy president. S. F. McLean, who also c-hot consistently, was runnerup with 187 points. The short-range aggregate carrying the Fellingham Memorial Cup and awarded to the highest scorer, handicap included, over 300? 500 and 600 yards, was won by H. V. Smith, a junior shot. A. Robinson and L. Fellingham tied for second place. The long-range aggregate carrying the Luke Cup ami awarded to the highest scorer, witli handicaps, over 800, 900 and 1000 yards, was won by deputy president McLean, with L. Fellingham runner-up. Ballinger and R.' H. Nicholl each scored an aggregate of 195 points out of a total possible of 210. They each scored 100 over tile three short ranges and 95 over lite three long ranges.
