70 FRENCH WARSHIPS ON MANOEUVRES

TOULON, January 18. Seventv warships of the Atlantic and Mediterranean fleets leave today for combined manoeuvres off African coast, and through the Straits of Gibraltar to Casablanca. Tlte Chief of the French General Staff, General Gamelin, and Vice-Admiral d'Arlan, Chief of the Nava; Staff, will jointly inspect coastal defences in Algeria and Morocco. The main feature of Hie manoeuvres wilt be an attack on Casablanca, in which port batteries will be tested out. .
