Force Of Nearly Two Tons
At Massachusetts Agricultural College a harness was placed on a growing squash to determine its power of growth. Pulleys and levers were rigged up-and weights suspended from them. As the squash grew, weights were gradually added, till it was found to be exerting a force of 41201 b —almost two tons pressure.,
