Makara Improvements A letter was received by the Makara County Council yesterday from the Makara Ratepayers’ Association 'thanking the council for improvements which had been carried out. “At a recent, meetin!? bf the executive of the Makara Ratepayers’ Association, I was instructed to write to you expressing the members’ warm appreciation of the excellent.work being carried out by your council in widening the road near the local hall, and the improvements at the cross-roads.” wrote the secretary of the as? sociation, Mr. 11. W. Watson. “This has been a long-felt need, and, when the work is fully completed, there will be a marked improvement in the general appearance of the place, and motorists generally will be grateful for the .better parking facilities when attending functions' at the hall and church.” The rapid manner in which Titahi Bay was developing was also referred to by Cr. 11. W. Bothamley, at whose instance it was decided Io instal three additional lights, in the township.
