YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Wellington.—The day was brilliantly tine and sunny. The wind was variable and light, with southerly predominating. Tlie early morning was cool, but the temperature rose rapidly during the day. The maximum yesterday was 67 deg., at 3.30 p.m., and the minimum during Thursday night 53.6 deg. The barometer yesterday read 29.935 in. Palmerston North.— Beautifully warm, with a clear sky and a light westerly breeze. Masterton.— Continuous bright sunshine and a light westerly wind. Wanganui.— Blue sky and a fresh westerly wind. Seas considerable. The barometer reading at 4.30 p.m. was 30.05 in. Napier and Hastings.— Fine, sunny and warm, with a west breeze. Waipukuruu.—A bright sunny day, with a cool westerly breeze aud a maximum temperature of 76deg. The barometer rent! 30 08in. Now Plymouth.— Fine, with bright sunshine and a light to strong south-wes-terly wind. Tlie barometer at 5 p.m. read 30.00'm. Auckland.— Fine and cloudy, with a fresh to moderate wind from the south. The maximum temperature was 71<leg. aud the barometric pressure fell, tlie reading at 5 p.m. being 30.01 in. Christchurch.— Brilliantly fine, with uninterrupted sunshine. A fresh southwest wind in the morning changed to north-east in the afternoon and decreased in force. The maximum temperature was 6G.ldeg. The barometer at 5 p.m. read 29.92 in. and was rising slowly. Duiiodin. — Broken periods of sunshine were interspersed with overcast and threatening skies. There was a fairly strong breeze from the south-west, but temperatures were comparatively mild, ■ the maximum being GSdeg. The barometer gained five points ui> till 5 o’clock.
