WESTLAND BREWERIES, LTD.
New Share Issue At 5/Premium Westland Breweries, Ltd., is offering its unissued shares to shareholders at a premium of 5/- a share, the proportion in the first instance to be one new share for every four now held. In a circular to shareholders the directors state that the 11,377 unissued £1 shares will be offered at 25/- each to strengthen the finance of the company and to enable the directors to continue the policy of ensuring trade by the purchase or otherwise securing the control of hotel properties. Calls of 5/- each will be made (ij monthly intervals after allotment. 5/- a share to be paid on application and 5/- on allotment. Nominal capital of the company is £55,000 in 55.000 shares of £1 each. Of this capital 43,623 have been issued, leaving a balance of 11.377. After the allocation of shares in the proportion of one to four, any surplus will be allotted as the directors see fit. but the shares will be issued as far as possible rateably among the shareholders making application.
The London shipping journal, ‘’Syren and Shipping” states that the Blue Star Line, Limited, London, have placed -n order with Messrs. Burmeister and Wain, Copenhagen, for another cargo motorship equipped for the 'arriage of perishable cargoes. She will be the fourth Blue Star liner on order pi the Copenhagen yard, the others being the Canadian Star and sister-ship, of 10.190 tons deadweight each, and another motorship of 13.250 tons deadweight.
