The Minister in charge of the Tourist and Publicity Department, Air. Langstone lias received advice from the Trade and Tourist Commissioner for New Zealand at Toronto that the board of directors of the Canadian National Exhibition has awarded its gold medal to the New Zealand display at the 1038 exhibition at Toronto. “Your display,” stated the general manager of the board, in his letter of announcement, “was of a most interesting and educational character and was the subject of much favourable comment from the general public" Fire destroyed the Government tobacco factory at Chateauroux, France, about £lOO.OOO worth of tobacco and snuff being burnt.
