Mr. Alfred Reid, formerly a wellknown Melbourne jockey and now author of “Krom Pigskin to Pulpit,” arrived at Brisbane from .Darwin recently Io spend several weeks in evangelical work iu Brisbane. After a nervous breakdown more
than seven years ago Mr. Reid gave up riding. He trained horses for a time, and later worked on a station at Renmark, South Australia. On his return to Melbourne, he became interested in religion, and has since devoted his life to evangelistic work. Ifor three years he was assistant to the honorary organizer and secretary of the Melbourne City Newsboys' Society. Miss Edith Onians.
