SEVERAL NOMINATIONS
Three employers and two workers’ nominations have been received so far fur Hie employers and workers’ representatives Io attend Hie .1939 session of Hie International Labour Office conference in Geneva. The nominations are to close on December 1.2, but it is understood that Hie time will be extended for another week or two. The employers' nominees, from whom one is to be selected, are: Mr. W. 11. Price, retiring manager of Hie Union Stbamship Company of New Zealand, Wellington: Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, secretary of the Wellington Employers' Association; Mr. V. Duff, accountant, New Plymouth, and tiil recently the employers’ representative on the .Second Court: of Arbitration. The workers’ nominations received to (lute are: Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the Canterbury Tailors and Tailoresses’ Union and president of Hie Christchurch Trades Council, and Mr. I'. M. Butler, secretary of the New Zealand General Labourers’ Union and a member of the national executive of the Labour Party.
The executive of the Federation of Labour called for a nominee from each of the 18 affiliated trades councils. After Hie nominations have been received, they are to be submitted to Hie trades councils, which will be asked to select one representative who ■ will become the workers’ representative at the conference.
