Parties For Miss Thyra Gill
Miss Thyra Gill, whose marriage to Mr. Jack Balharry will take place next Friday afternoon, has been the guest of ohonour nt a number of parties this week. , On Wednesday a large number of people met in her honour at the lovely home of Mrs. lan Macallan, Lowry Bay. The guests gathered in the draw-ing-room. where Miss Gill opened nu/ny attractive and useful gifts for her pantry. Afterwards tea was served in the dining-room. Mrs. Macallan was in a graceful afternoon frock of wine red silk patterned in a floral design. Miss Gill wore navy and white linen and a white hat. A party to which guests brought gifts for the bathroom in Miss Gill's future home was given by Mrs. W. F. Airey and Mrs. H. W. Rowden at the former's home at Karori. A- very pleasant time was spent over tea and the opening of the many interesting parcels. , At a kitchen tea given one afternoon there were three hostesses, Mrs. Frank Grear, Mrs. Montgomerie Spencer and Mrs. Grenfell Morgan. The party was given at Mrs. Great’s home at Lower Hutt.
