Prime Minister And Mr. Scrimgeour

A resolution congratulating the Prime Minister on his stand over the situation created by the resignation of the Director of Commercial Broadcasting, Mr. C. G. Scrimgeour, was carried at this week’s meeting of the Wellington Labour Representation Committee. The text of the resolution is:—

“That this meeting of the Wellington Labour Representation Committee sincerely congratulted thfe Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, ou his fair, considerate and statesmanlike handling of the situation created by the attacks inspired for National Party purposes on Mr. C. G. Scrimgeour, Director of Commercial Broadcasting, and the latter’s reply to those attacks. “It further expresses its satisfaction that Mr. Scrimgeour has seen his way to withdraw his resignation, and to carry on his fine humanitarian work for those in need and distress and in the creation of a sound national social conscience alive to the country’s responsibilities in making the necessaries of life available to all.”
