FAREWELL TEA
Friends Gather At Afternoon Party
A delightful afternoon party was held yesterday at Kirkealdie and Stains’ tea rooms, when Mrs. Rist entertained a number of friends at a “farewell tea” before leaving for her home at Auckland.
Mrs. Bist, who has been spending a holiday of some months in Welling'ton, received her guests wearing a gown of black lace over black satin, with sequined front and a french toque to tone. She was assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Cassells, Wellington, who wore a tailored coat of brown astrakhan with brown model toque. Vivid cyclamens and maidenhair fern were effectively grouped to form a central “bouquet” on the ted table, and at the place of each guest there was a fragrant shoulder posy of daphne. Guests included Madame Feng Wang, Mrs. and Miss Kettle, Mrs. E. D. Good, Mrs. Wylie, Mrs. E. O. Blamires, Miss Jackson, Mrs.. Maunder, Mrs. Bennie and Miss Mary McLean.
