FRIESIAN BULL FOR TASMANIA

-It is some years now since Friesian breeders in Tasmania have drawn on New Zealand for fresh blood. Some years ago several considerable shipments of this breed of dairy cattle were made from the South Island to Tasmania and several sires sent over won championship honours nt successive .Royal shows there. AA’right, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., have just completed the selection and shipment of another outstanding young Friesian bull for a well-known Tasmanian breeder, Mr. John French, "The Oaks.'” 'T'his bull, Turepo Ranger Kewpie, was bred by the AA’airnrapa breeder Mr. C. Knutson. Although a year old this month, ho is a very well-grown bull and is particularly attractive in his general appearance. AVith his high breeding lie appears to possess every requirement for. outstanding success as a herd sire in his new home. He is a son of Totara Ranger Lad, a dual North Island and also Royal champion bull whose record in the showring now totals 27 championships Totara Ranker Lad is bred from both champion producers as well as show cattle. Air. French was anxious to secure a bull front a high-testing dam and Turepo B"1 C . Topsy 2nd. the cow in question, fulfils his requirements admirably, as she has never tested below 3.8 per cent. As a heifer under herd testing conditions she produced 4141 b. fat in 291 days, while in the showring was undefeated as a three-year-old, also securing the premier honours at the Royal show of that year.
