Pedigree Sheep Imported To New Zealand Of interest to Southdown Sheepbreeders throughout the Dominion was the arrival last week in AVellington ot three pedigree Sout|idown imported from England through the A’ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, on behalf of three leading breeders. The animals were bred by Mr. J. Pierpont Morgan, AVall Hall, Aldenham. Watford, Herts., and were purchased for Messrs. G. N. .McLeod, .Martinborough, AVm. Rayner, Masterton, and J. H. Slack, Bunnythorpe. , . . , Southdown breeders, who inspected the animals in England, describe them as outstanding representatives of the breed. Probably the outstanding feature of these ewes is'their excellent handling quality, together with their low set, deep-chested bodies, indicating both type and constitution. All three sheep are prize-winners, having won first prizes as a pen of three at the Royal. Oxfordshire aud Hertfordshire county shows in England last year. (Picture on page 6.)
