Yet Another Revival Of "The Belle Of New York"

TT is just over 39 years since Gustave "*■ Kerker’s sprightly and captivating music of “The Belle of New York” was first heard in Melbourne. In those faraway days, this popular American musical comedy was produced under the management of Williamson and Musgrove. Since then, “The Belle of New York” has had many revivals, and a 1938 version was recently presented. Marie Bremner played the title role in the last Australian revival of “The Belle.” Diana du Cane has the role of Violet Grey. Leslie Holland, who has filled the role of lehabod Bronson on many occasions, returned to Melbourne to play it again, and Amy Rochelle returned to the stage to appear aS Cora Angelique.
