MEASLES EPIDEMIC
Eight Canterbury Schools
To Close
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, August 11. Eight Canterbury schools have been authorised to close because half or more of the pupils are absent through illness, principally measles. Most of the schools concerned are small country schools, but they include Phillipstown, a Christchurch suburban school, and Southbridge. The approach of the term holidays will mean that the curriculum will not be seriously affected.
