Bomb Outrage Causes Acute Tension

JEWS AND ARABS IN

PALESTINE

; Received July 8, 1.80 a.ub) Jerusalem, July 7.

There is extremely acute tension today over the whole country after yesterday’s carnage at Haifa, when a bomb exploded, killing and wounding both Arabs and Jews. The tragic death-roll of this outrage has raised the bitterness and animosity existing between Arabrs and Jews to fever pitch. Haifa’s main street resembled a ghastly shambles late last night. The dead, dying and injured were lying among the wreckage of ears and market stalls.

Jews :md Arabs are violently blaming each other for causing the shootings. Ten Arab supernumerary police have been arrested and charged with indiscriminately shooting at. the crowds.
