TO-NIGHT’S WRESTLING

The wrestling bout for which the whole of New Zealand has been waiting -will be held in the Wellington Town Hall tonight when “Lofty'' Blomfield, the New Zealand heavyweight professional champion, will have a chance to avenge the defeat which Pat Fraley, the “Singing Cowboy” from .Nebraska, inflicted on him at Auckland a few weeks ago. Both men are in first-class condition and everything points to a really thrilling encounter in which every effort will be made on both sides to settle the issue as quickly and effectively as possible. When the men met the first time Blomfield was feeling the effects of a heavy programme of matches in which he had to travel from one end of the country to the other, wrestling nearly every night. In addition to a trace of st alt lies* he was suffering from the effects of various minor injuries. Although Blomfield had no excuses. it was abvious that his performance was affected ami his supporters are confident that he will be able to make a showing more worthy of his real calibre to-night. He and Fraley are experts in tile use of elbow jolts, are evenly matched in weight and strength, and, while the New Zealander has his deadly octopus clamp. Fraley has his equally effective flying toe hold. There will be amateur preliminaries.
